i just figured 18" is enough for a 20" fish to turn around, and 6' is enough swimming space, especially considering how inactive they are
actually ur wrong not all endlis are inactive it depends on the fish itself ;)

Endli and nate get to big for a 125 :( plus ornates can be nippy

id go

4 delhezi
6 plamas vareints
1 moke
3 sen
and one one or too retro's

Your going to need some major filteration though

not too worried on filtration, i am going to make a wet dry system 1200 gph + 2 350 gph HOBs
can i really not keep an endli in a 125? i thought it would be fine, and i did not know ornates are nippy :(

first off, 20" is a conservative estimate. P.e.e have the potential to attain 30"+. Just because most don't doesn't mean yours won't. Secondly just because a fish is able to turn around doesn't mean its an appropiate tank. We should try to make our fish comfortable, and imo a tank should at least be as wide as the fish is long, preferably larger.

I may be in the minority but I think a lot of the reason we see so many 20" endli's is because so many people keep them in 24" wide tanks. Just becuase the fish is flexible and hardy doesn't mean thats its immune to stunting. Thats why I'm waiting to start a lower jaw tank until I buy a house and build a 10x4x3. My 2 cents

ok maybe I'll just stick w/ some upper jaws

If you really want to do it and 125g is the biggest you can afford or max at your house, then go for but remove the hujeta gar. Just make sure the filter is going to hold all the bio-load. You can just always upgrade.

ok why not hujetas? but yeah 125 is the biggest i can do for the next 4 years and then i will probably be out of fishkeeping for a while
i think i will do it, and if they seem cramped or there is fighting, then i will just sell some of them, thanks to everyone that chimed in
