I didn't think Poly's were that dangerous that you have to carry a gun when fishing for them. Maybe I should sleep with a revolver by my bedside from now on...

Seriously though, i think calling them 'poachers' is misleading. first of all, the fish are legal to catch. And it's not like they are an illegal organization catching these fish and selling them to the highest bidder in the black market or whatever.
basically, the japanese led several teams to east africa looking for the fish, and these are fisherman working with them to catch the fish, and guns are a necessary protection.
