Is there any good ones that wont become what a remora is to a shark? I took my common plecos out because ive heard of them constantly attaching themselfs to bichirs and causing problems. what would you reccomend?

Only type I can think of you might have to watch is hypostomu sp. Other then that there should be no issues with your common which is most likely a Pterygoplichthys sp.

I've kept many types with my old polys I had a d never had any issues. I would personally not trust any hypostomus they seem to have the taste for slime coat no matter how well fed they are.

I had to get rid of one pleco because he was attacking my bichir.

I have some unknown pleco right now who could care less about her, but idk for how long.

I plan on getting rid of him soon, and I was wondering the same thing. Also arent those Siamese Algae Eaters very aggressive?

I had one that would attack everything and it sucked a hole in my cory cats head!

I was thinking of getting a spotted pictus catfish to eat extra food, and just because I like them and think they are cute :)
Would I have any problems with one in with my bichir?

I may get two of them, but who knows.

ill be sure to do so. how do bristlenose differ from common plecos?
i have a bristlenose pleco with my 3 bichirs and there fine.

Bristlenose are true herbivores, not omnivores. But like someone already mentioned, bigger polys sometimes decide to eat them. I've been using olive nerite snails, so far so good, even though they're only a little bigger than dime sized.

Would the Pictus bother the bichirs? no yes maybe?

I love how they look and have an obsession with catfish, I almost bought a RTC but then I was like "nnooooooo jess, you cant buy it even if they are on sale.. they get bigger than you are.."

Bristlenose are most defianately omnivores. They will jump at any chance to eat meaty foods. Especially bloodworms, mysis shrimp, market shrimp, or a dead tankmate. They just don't seem to have any interest in attacking bichirs. But they are often prey for larger bichirs.

Not a good idea to me especially the monster ones that grow over to a feet. i've heard that only the smaller bristlenose plecos have a somewhat 'garenteed" safety to ur bichir. if hungrey, a pleco might suck the life depending slime coat off ur bichir!!
