The thing with common pleco as they are more likely to suck on the ganoid scaled fish as many have tried. Only very little success story about them with ganoid scaled fish.JamesF;5017001; said:

had mine in with an l191 for over a year with no issue, the plec doesnt stray to far away from the wood.

Well the OP is looking for a good algae eating pleco. L191 is no good for eating algae as they prefer to eat wood over algae or will also eat fruits and veggies. They are safe with ganoid scaled fish but not good at cleaning algae.
