The opposite of coarse. Like gravel that consists of very small rocks, similar to sand but not quite that small.

i have some floating krill from petco do those work?

I have fed mine freeze-dried krill, but especially since yours spend most of their time at the bottom of the tank, they will probably accept sinking frozen foods more readily (like frozen krill, frozen bloodworms, etc). btw, if you feed it krill, be sure to cut it into small enough pieces for them to swallow, otherwise they may choke on it.

so i was reading a fourm and it says to get a good place for them to hide true?

Yes they do appreaciate hiding spots. and I use silica sand with mine.
