Dumb question time... I've got a nice male Betta in my tank here at work - lives like a king, lots of plants in a 20 gal tank all by himself.

I recently saw some albino senegal bichirs at the local petsmart, they are about 4" long. Can I get one of them to put in with the betta? I realize the betta may become lunch after the bichir grows big enough, but will there be issues soon?

just cuz your bchr cant fit the betta in his mouth doesnt mean he wont try!

Don't get the birchir unless you want it to eat the betta, cause it will.

A standard 20 gallon 24x12x16 is to small for bichirs even the smallest speicies can reach 12 in length-Anne

the tanks is just good for grow outs, the betta will be a goner as soon as the bichir will be placed in the tank

ya imo the betta is as good as gone if put together.

I sense a nice Betta meal for any bichir you put in there. Plus the tank is to small for long term Bichir housing.
