bichir with oscars?

hi i just got a shortfin bichir and my albino oscar likes to nip it on the side im hoping that it wont cause any damage as the bichir cost me £22.50 so do you think that they can live together long term, also the oscar is about 5 inches and the bichir measures about 6 1/2 inches.

I would say separate them. It most likely isn't going to get any better.

If you get a bicher at 6" when the oscar is only 3", that probability diminishes, but the possibility of the bicher taking it for a deathroll increases, although as long as the bicher is well fed(and isn't an endli), that possibility decreases too.

What would happen with an endli? I'm glad this question got asked because I was thinking of getting an ornate and endli to go with my oscars as well.

Endlis have a rep for munching tankmates even when well fed. Which is too bad, because in my opinion, they're one of the coolest bichers.

I've had my well-fed oscar in with a weeksii and a retropinis in one of the 55 gallons for months now. I did, once in the distant past, have an oscar try to eat his senegalus tankmate. Hope to God that never happens.
