probably outside, waterproof paint costs a bunch, doesnt it?

IMO, you should get the speakers away from your tank. Sound travels very well in water, and the speaker output will stress your fish.

the best cheap sand to get is go to a pool and spa place and geet their sand, its heavy grain, white with black specks, ph neutral and wont effect the water parameters, (this stuff is pure ;) and sterile, for people, after a good rinse of course) annnnnnnnd best of all, around 10 bucks for 50lbs. This is what it looks like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7PBoZ3OUzY had it for probably 3 weeks, no problems, also like birds, sand helps the physical side of digestion for fish. First thing they all did was take a bite each of the sand.

those speakers arent hooked up they are more for looks i have the other ones hooked up on the other side of the room

what other kind of sand would work as there are no spa stores where i live

Easiest way is to paint the outside. I've seen some tanks that are painted in the inside but I'm not sure what kind of paint that was used.

As for the sand you can go to a local hardware store and look for pool filter sand or play sand.
