the three that i have r doing good, they grown a bit since i got them, about an inch a piece.

i have two bichir that love to eat, one of them is getting big as can be, the other is just below them. the third one eats, but does not put on the same weight as the others. cause for concern?

im also still having brown algae issues. anything else i can do besides the water changes to combat it?

brown algea you need plecos or a scraper...i have the same problem
its just that some areas of the tank r inaccessible with my algae floatmag scraper. but i was going to avoid having a pleco cuz of its risk with the bichirs. but they r small now, and im not sure that if they grow up together if they would avoid each other or not, that would be the best case scenario. but a pleco would make the tank look much better.

bichirs dont all grow at the same rate its only a prob if the biggest can eat the smallest i had 3 baby laps wit diff growth rate the biggest ended up eating the smallest

so is there a nay or a yay vote on a bushy-nosed pleco to clean the brown algae?

I would think a bristlenose pleco would become lunch for a birchir once they get bigger specially since BN Plecos dont get very large. I can be wrong though.

i think there was more concern that the pleco would be attaching itself to the bichir and killing them.

I had a 2 foot gibby plec with a 5" senegal and they did fine together? I don't think it would be that much of an issue.

Some people get away with it but 99% of the timde it ends with the pleco sucking on the bichir, how big is your tank?.
Have you thought about a flagtail?.
Or have you thought of getting a glass scraper/cleaner?

For me its always going to be a nay on the pleco,as much as i like em i dont like them more than my bichirs.
