Bichirs Compatible with Silver Aro or Discus?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would go with the silver aro.. Discuss will not be a good way to go, plus discuss need to have lower PH level then bichir.

Thanks for the inputs STU!

That's alright. If it helps I did a bit more asking around with other people I know who own fish like this (it helps when you work at the LFS :D ). The Discus purists got rather touchy and the normal reply was "Why?!". But everyone else didn't see a problem, I even managed to catch up with the guy I know who's got Polys and Discus together and the tank is still doing fine.

Huh? Lake Oguta where we find Senegals has a pH range of 5.2 to 6.4 over the year.

Stu :)

I haven't kept aros personally but have kept saratoga (aussie aros) and have found its been the case of who owns the place first. I had to move my polys into my toga tank for strategic purposes and found him nippy towards them so removed him straight away. If it's not a big loss go for it. But for what polys are worth over here there is no worth in taking chances.
