ditch the crayfish into the 10. you cant keep your fish with it or it will kill them.

well, considering its a knife fish... the tail is basically part of the body (spinal cord, vital organs etc) and if it gets snipped then your fish is basically cut in half... any fish that gets cut in half is toast...;)

If it snips the knife fish...will it die?

Seriously? The fin, no. But the entire back half of the fish could be considered the tail, so if it gets its back half cut off it will die.
 
Just take the crayfish, boil for 8-10 minutes. Then dip into barbeque sauce and set him on some tinfoil in your grill. Let him sit for 4-5 minutes. Presto, you got a meal and your fish are happy.

does the crayfish need a heater? its gonna take a couple of weeks to get that tank ready hopefully they last that long
