Really cool. SO glad you could share this with us. When you get the chance I would love to see more pictures of anything and everything. If you can get a picture of a bichir in the water that would be awesome.

It would be nice if you can ship those bichirs that you catch to my area. I'm guessing you probably caught Polypterus bichir bichir or polypterus endlcheri endlicheri. Still want both of them in that region. Also if you do caught the polypterus bichir bichir, then you are the luckiest person to have them. The Polypterus bichir bichir was the first bichirs ever discovered by one of Napoleon's scientist in the Nile river area.

Also got a question what do you call polypterus in your native language?
 
Did OP get devored by a 5 feet long Bichir bichir while scuba diving to film them?
