Bichirs with Breeding JD's?

Hello I was wondering if my two delhezi bichirs could live in my 75g with a breeding pair of JD about 3inchs originally I was going to put them in my 125g with my oscars but was worried my 12 inch common plec will bother them so what would be the best choice should I move the plec to the 75g maybe?

It'd be kinda iffy both are bottom dwellers and the delhezis are still small personally i wouldn't risk it

beau1990 Jack dempsys are not really bottom dwellers and all of them are about 3 inch same size

All the jacks that I've had solo or in communitys inhabit the bottom half of the tank usually, they'll cruise the top bit a little but the prefer to be down low, I also saw where you mentioned their of equal size, but polys are long noodle shaped fish, and thats the kind that goes down the easiest

ok so maybe the jack should just go to my 125 big cichlid tank and give the 75g to the bichirs I just love breeding them do you think they could breed with two other oscars in the tank if they go to the 125g?

Honestly your in a bit of a hard place because the two Oscar's alone is pretty much the maximum bioload you could do there ooor do wayyyy more water changes

two oscars in a 125 is maximum bio load? I find this hard to believe since I also have a common plec in their and ammonia has never gotten to detectable levels

Hey thats fantastic, you must have a Hella filter system. but I'm just telling you what countless others have been told here by far better and far more experienced fish keepers than me again ymmv

ok good to know I geuss I will try moving the JD and if it does not work I will move him back thanks for your help and I run a rena xp3 and a eheim 2217

What are the dels in now? Could the stay there til the get a bit bigger?
