bichirs with dragon gobys???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I never kept them together, but I've kept both before and I wouldn't advise it. A dragon goby will not live to its full potential in fresh water and a bichir will not live to its full potential in brackish. They simply have different requirements. Even if you ignored that and kept them together in full fresh I think the goby would be dramatically out-competed for food and most likely bullied and harrassed by the bichir.

My $0.02

I completly agree lets make it $0.04 Dragon Gobies do better in Brackish water it's irresponsible to expect it to be okay in Full Fresh Water, and vica-versa for the Bichir....Besides is this still your 30gallon?

from what im told gobys are more herbivores an bichirs are the carnivores so could i feed the freeze dried krill an sinking spirulina?

o ok cause my lfs keeps them in soft water with bichirs an they get along alrite so im wonderin
This is just a temporary set up at the LFS store..please do not get confused when you see setups of odd fish together in LFS.. they do it because they lack tank space and they know it is short term... long term the goby needs brackish water to survive.. he can go for awhile in fresh water but it will eventually take its toll on him... they just do not live long in fresh water...so bichirs and gobys should not be tank mates..
