The bad thing about not completing a bacterial treatment is the bacteria can come back with a vengeance and the medication will no longer work. If you think the bath is too stressful, I would treat the whole tank, but then there is a high chance you will lose all the nitrifying bacteria in that tank and would have to cycle the tank again.
