Members of the Brochis genus can grow quite large. Could have been one of those.

Hoplosternum are also members of the Callichthyidae family (along with the brochis and corydoras) and reach a fairly large size. Hoplosternum littorale can reach 8".

Or it could be you saw a completly unrelated species of fish. Many members of the African Mochokidae family look similer to corys.

Is it just me or does the top pic look photoshopped?

well thanks anyways though sandtiger!

come to think of it..why didn't I just call the fish store itself..lol
i do remember that they were infront of the discus tank..

corydora barbatus (bearded cory) hits 3-5"

that big cory looks.. fake

Brown hoplos look like big cories to me. I can't remember the aquarticle I read that had some huge cory cats in a pond somewhere in brazil or something. I will try to find it.

But why would anyone spend the time to make their cory look an inch or two bigger, and more coloration. They must have alot of time on their hands, and no friends or family.
