How do prices compare online versus in store? I may make the drive once it opens to stock up on stuff and save on shipping if the prices are the same.
Big Al's Coming to Philly Area

I was at the location in montreal 2 weeks ago and it was kinda small as to what i was expecting, but awesome people working there. The woman at the register was realy nice and answered a bunch of questions for me. Seems like all of the locations have shark tanks!! This one had a black tip reef shark that was about 3' long. I wonder if they will have a shark tank here in PA. I might be up for that MFK meet. Let's see when it opens.
I believe the store is technically in Plymouth Meeting, PA (~ 10 miles north of Philadelphia). Great location for distant travelers as it is easy to find and has many different types of nearby stores to help justify a long trip.
With this store in my neigborhood, I'll have the same issue as those who live next to Disney World in Florida; it won't be special because it's so close. I like the feeling of anticipation & excitement when I drive the 1 1/2hrs to ThatFishPlace; and even more so on the way home with me "treasures".

I called today to see when they might be opening for buisness and was told they think it will be May, 15th.
My biggest concern now is what will happen to the LFS's in the area; particularly Worldwide Aquarium in Upper Darby and Philadelphia. They is also a Pets Plus about 4 miles away that has a great fish selection. These three stores have been the source of 90% of my cichlid purchases.
If they are smart they will steal Jim Hall away from WWA in Upper Darby. He is one of those experts who the regional aquarium societies are always trying to get as a guess speaker.
The Big Als is also in the center of three PetSmart's (within 10 mile radius). The closes PetSmart in Plymouth Meeting (4-miles away) just got a huge shipment of large tanks.

where is the closest pets plus? i wanted to check one out in exton, but once i got there they were gone.

The Pets Plus in Plymouth Meeting is located at Ridge Pike & Bulter Pike intersection. They are next to the REI's sporting goods store.
All the Pets Plus are different when it comes to fish. The best & biggest I found is in Quakertown, PA; right on route 309. I rank them 3rd for SE PA.
(1-ThatFishPlace, 2-World Wide Aquarium Upper Darby). The Pets Plus in Soulderton (route 113) is terrible. Their fish selection is about the same as Walmart's
