  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have 3 withing 20 min or me and i love each one, they all have guge shark tanks, one has a 20' wide 10'tall cylindrical shark tankk with 5-6 sharks. gigantic cichlid and marine bow front show tanks, like 10' across i mean...

BUT!!! have i got ich from them... yes twice, there tanks are crampt and most of the staff could cair less. BUT they have huge selections and the ones near me get all tytes or exotice. it all depends on the owner.

Good luck with yours.

Oh and the owner is this little italion guy, i knew him once in another life... not one to be crossed. the place where i got my pond liner from even worked with the guy once and its amazing how many stored he got opened in just 10 years.

Big Als is opening tomorrow (Sat 5/19). I was in the store yesterday but was told they couldn't sell me anything until Sat.

I stopped into the new Big Al's in Norristown, PA last night.
Nice, modern, they said they'd been open for 2 weeks.
Not yet fully stocked. Not many customers. Lots of friendly, knowledgable help.
Its a franchise, not directly related to Big Al's Online. VIP card for one doesn't work for the other. Otherwise very much the same selection and catalog.

I recommend a visit.

Are the prices the same as online? How does it compare to TFP? I live in Allentown, so if I can get the same pricing or comparable that I would get at TFP, it would cut my treks down to half the time.

Yes the prices are higher than online:( :( ........but they will honor a price match from the online site;) .........bring a printout

your online points only work online and vise versa for the store points (store points are good at that big al's location only)...........this was stated by the manager.....

quite a few tanks had ich last time i checked, and dead fish in them (lots of kids work there, Although John the fish room manager is extremly knowledgable:headbang2)

lots of selection and decent selection of weird / oddball stuff..reptiles too:headbang2 ....pick wisely though, as i dont think the whole system is established yet.......Dry goods are a little pricey but like i said price match is a must for anything signifigant......

If you are making the trip, call first to see if they have recently (3 times a week, i think) recieved a decent shipment and if they have what you are looking for:)

i work at this new big al's and i know we do the best we can to keep the fish happy. i have been a frequent shopper at all the fish stores in the area untill now. this place is amazing!

Is this owned by a guy with a son in law named Rob by any chance? Or does a guy named Rob work there that used to be a Canon Tech?

I bought a great looking dempsey at Martin's when I was much younger. I remember it because when they tried to get it out of the tank they soaked me with water...got me a free t-shirt!
