So picking up a nice 16+ inch Armatus this weekend.

Any advice on setting up this 240 8x2x2 tank? He will be the only fish? I jumped on this opportunity and i do realize that without the proper width for my setup.

I will be moving the Armatus into an 8x3x3 set up in 3 months?

I have 2 RIO 2500 for powerheads and 2 Eheim big wetdry canisters.

I have a 2500gph powerhead also but when i used it the current seemed to strong for the tank.

Thanks any advice would be appreciated!

The 2500 gph powerhead is fine. Payara are river fish and it will appreciate the strong current. The 240 will be fine for a while but the 8x3x3 will be better, especially once it starts getting really big.

+1 also from what iv researched, Armatus seem to slow down in growth after the first 12". You will be able to keep in that tank a good while before you'll need the upgrade.

Got the Armatus 16"+! Pics coming soon...

I have it set up with an Ehiem 2229 Wet Dry.
2 RIO 2500 making a nice current.

He is swimming into the current but he's hanging out towards the other side of the tank.

PICS! PICS! PICS!

:D

I cant seem to post pics from my desktop. Is there any other way to post pics?

Upload them to facebook or where ever you choose to host them, bring the picture up, right click on it and select "view picture". This should cause the picture to open in a new window. Copy the complete contents of the address bar.

Then, come back here to MFK and type these tags:

Then, paste the contents of you address bar between the tags like so:

Post away! The image will show up instead of the address in the tags.
