Tig from 5" to 11" in about 3 months...Planiceps are by far the fast growers though..

I agree with the planiceps growth rate being very fast. Would like to get some more, but had to miss out this year due to tank building. My old planiceps was 12" when I first got him, he died at 26" about 10 months later. That was amazing growth rate, but they weigh pretty much nothing at all. Lesson learned even though at the time the big boy was 32" and the planiceps was 26" the mix didn't work too well because the planiceps was just way too slender and got his tail ripped off. While in my house tank though the planiceps was a very aggressive eater and rarely got spooked.
