Your pictures looks very familar to me and I found the same pictures for these barca in one of the Chinese fish forum I am visiting from time to time. In this forum, the seller already advised that the both your first one and the second one are female if you can read Chinese character. Please see the link below.

However, I guess your first one could be a male because its dorsal fin is very high. I am not sure and I don't have a chance to collect such expensive fish. Good luck.

To the OP: beautiful Barca... for a second i thought you might have bought the two i've been seeing in Fish Street in Mong Kok till i read you bought them in China... although i'll admit the price you got them for was a little bit cheaper than what it was in HK...

The first looks like a male due to a larger dorsal. I can't tell really well unless you get clearer pics of them in a more neutral background.
Males should have larger dorsal fins and more intense coloration (IE, the face should be really blue) while the females, despite still looking VERY beautiful, are more subdued when compared to the males.
Again, it isn't easy to tell at this moment with the bluish tint to the background and the sunlight.
