big cichla wd big piranhas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is a fish eat fish world and If they are sworn enemies in the wild I don't think they will leave their grudge outside the tank. RB's are boring anyway ;)

yeah thanx guys not i good idea i know.. howbout largemouth bass how will they do with my cichlas? are they any aggressive? saw a vidclip, lightning speed, they even eat mice!

IN the wild mose fish have 1000's of gallons of water less u a beta
Thanks capt obvious!!!i did not know most fish have thousands of gallons to swim in..I was just stating the fact that the bass can get away, but in small waters its a different balll game!!!! less room to run

I wouldn't keep just 2 rbp's together in the first place, even if it would work. I've experimented with rbp communities before, and they all ended up the same way.... rbp species tank. I would just stick to the pbass. They are much more exciting fish anyways.

And about the LMB's... I think behaviorally , they would be totally fine with the pbass, but they are ideally kept in cooler water. People do keep them in tropical tanks though, so it could work. If it were me though, I would stick with an amazon type of setup. Maybe you could try some pims or something like that. Some of them are pretty cool and will add some action to the bottom of your tank.

I saw a video on Pbass vs RBPs in the wild when the water is open the Pbass dominate but as the water recedes in the amazon forming smaller pools the peacock bass are eaten up by the RBPs

Lucky !! wheres that vid !! ??

Well we'll soon see one like it here huh :D

yeah i see what you mean with the amazon type set up. currenty i house my pbasses wd featherfin catfishes, a lima shovelnose, some silver dollars and a crenicichla saxatilis grp... what are pims? right now its kinda cool here in manila so maybe LMB will do well but come summer, i dont think they'll survive. thanx for the info!

I have a largemouth bass with bigger my pbass now...He is a bully..No violence, just alot of gill flaring and chasing around.....

my pbasses are around 8 inches now, they're about 6, there's five more little ones on a separate tank, right now they're doing fine but m thinking in about six months to a year i hav to transfer them to a bigger setup, maybe a 300 gallon tank..
