Yea, I can see how that could be an issue. Distruction of habitate, spawning grounds ect. I hate to see it but time and time over you see the same thing happining everywhere.

Go nuclear!

That comes with it's own set of issues, what about wind or Solar we should spend more time developing that tech. Seems safe enough.

Safe, but not yet nearly effective enough yet. Nuclear is extremely safe compared to the environmental damage that coal is causing to produce most of our power right now. Taken as a whole, nuclear is a very viable bridge from nasty coal to cleaner solar & wind (a bridge which may take 20+ years!).

Fair enough, I still remember 3 Mile Island and Chernobel (sp).

20% of our entire electrical consumption (spelling?) are from windmills.

U.S.A aim to do the same, if not better.

Your country is just way too "complicated" to get things started in decent time.
This has been on the drawing board for atleast 2 years in your country. (As in it's nothing but talk still, and could take decades to take place)

I worked on the some of the biggest wind towers in the country and I hate to say it but its not viable. Without goverment money they are doomed to fail.

Yea...I think that might be the best choice for the future. Most of our newer battleships & subs have been running on nuclear power for 20+ yrs (without incident) and are independent from the needs of any external fuel source because they regenerate their power themselves.

Therein lies the rub. We're not ready to tax ourselves to pay for wind power. It has to be profitable for it to have a real chance, and it's not there yet. Nuclear is.
