Another quick question, if she is getting beat on pretty bad should i seperate them again or just let it happen?

I would first provide a lot of decor so she can escape him. If you think her life is in danger then i would seperate them. But if she is being roughed up but still appears okay then i would wait it out. Using the divider is a much better option than getting a new female.

Ok well tonites the big night!! After a big wc her breeding colors came in and she started cleaning out her flower pot. At about 1030 her tube dropped and i released the male. They started lip locking and then i turned off the light and left them alone. Im reallly tempted to check but id rather be surprised in the morning!!! Wish me luck !

Well... Failure. In the morning she was huddled behnd the heater with nipped fins and her color was all gone. He isnt being like breeding aggresive, he darts at her and follows until he gets a piece of her fin and then doesnt even pay attention. I think ill leave it for a couple of days....

Patience is a virtue. You removed the divider WAY too soon IMO. i would have left it a week+. They hardly even know eachother, and the male is still showing his dominance. I have said it once, I'll say it again. Lots of hiding places for the female, vertical visual barriers, dither fish and time. You are rushing into things, and ultimately causing trauma for the female - which may end up in her death.

I know ive been rushing things and removing the divider too early and thinking theres breeding signs when theres not but they were lip locking through the barrier and flaring. Today i lifted up the divider and she darted strait for him, he is scared of her and not interested anymore. Its so weird has anyone every had the female of a pair the only one that is interested in breeding, any advice??
