Big eel, small tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My question is how long could I keep the Eel in said tank?
0 years, 0 months, 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds. Goldentail morays are prettier IMO and stay small, 2' max

In a 5x2 foot tank, I would say the eel should be 2 to 2 1/2 foot max befoe you upgrade. Yes they are not the most active species, but during the night and feeding time they usualy swim aeound/move quite alot more. I just added pics today to my profile page if you want to see my morays, or check my 3 photo threads. I got my tesselatta around a foot long, and in less than a year he was about 2 feet. I only feed him twice a week too and he just keeps getting longer and thicker."Pravus" the tesselatta is now in a 500gal cube tank.

Wow Pravus is beautiful, I am considering a smaller eel but I want something really attractive IMO there's none like the Tesselata but I would like some tankmates for my eel and the tank dimensions are going to be 72" 24" wide 30" deep

My tesselata was housed with a volitan lionfish for the longest time until I sold the lionfish (regret that to this day), but anything big and stocky like that or any groupers would make excellent tank mates. Damsels and small fish like that will literaly dissapear the same day you add them to the tank lol my fimbriated moray (call him Jack the ripper) is housed alone now in the tesselatas old tank cuz he kills anything I put in there with him.
