Big fish eat little fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My BP do eat feeder guppies but anything bigger than a guppy is safe with him.

I am surprised a BP could even catch a guppy. Our 150 display tank has a pair of large Synspilum liviing with loaches a BP's a Jack Dempsey,Green Terror 1 Frontosa 3 Peacocks and here is the kicker P Salousi. The Salousi are always breeding aand I am afraid may take over the tank by sheer numbers. Some of the little guys are so bold now they swim out into the middle of the tank and never even get looed at. People are amazed at what we have in the tank and there is no to little aggresion.

Why you should be surprised that a BP can catch a guppy?

blood parrots arent exactly built to hunt. theyre barely built to eat with their strange mouths lol

Blood parrots make me smile always it looks like they're high as hell lol but yeah my Flowerhorn ate three of my bps. Not killed ate! That's what happens when I fast my fish lol

Colin you said you have clowns in the tank too they are a funny fish don't seem to bother or get bothered by other fish. However I have heard they will some times eat other fish but that was reported as just before they spawned. Your BP's will probably be ok as those small fish don't really look like them or pose a threat for food.
I never have understood how a BP can terrorise other fish but they do seem to push some fish around. As it looks like all they can do is push like a bull dozer.

That's a good point, I've always wondered how clowns have been able to do well in tanks with africans, and even Green Terror's; but they just never seem to attract attention, I wonder if its maybe their colours, or that they generally stick to the substrate and don't occupy eye level...

Yeah I hope the clowns behave, I agree that BP's tend to bulldoze things; they are quite stocky that way
