Very interesting... but i really think they will.. i wonder if you could post that question in the Arow section..i am sure there has to be someone who went through that.. Arows are always bumping themselves etc.. that would be a great question to ponder..In fact o am going to say they will definitly grow back..I would bet on it.
 
I just looked up a little info on the barbels..they said almost all the time the barbels are destroyed because of wrong water perimeters.. and the barbels will grown back as long as there is still some root there.. Keep my fingers crossed, but they can do just fine without them too..
