IMO $60 for a 9" is still overpriced. I can get one for $12, but hey different countries have different price range so do check with locals before buying

There are certain stores I've noticed will mark up what they think the "retail value" should be. Most big fish are trade ins and some lfs will try to get the most out of them. There's a lfs that charges really cheap for trade ins. I've seen that they've had 8" BGK for $25, 10" Royal Pleco for $40, 9" Oscars for $12, etc., and recently a few 10" RCKs for $15. It really depends on where you go. Some will sell cheap just to get rid of them fast and most will sell "retail value" to get the most out of them. So I wouldn't say they are expensive, but I think most people are spoiled by the Marketplace here and expect most monster fish for under $100.

It all about the place. In NYC, some 16 inchers go for 250$ up.
