nah i would say you have to know how to save and budget... anyone can make anything happen ;) trips normally cost around 2,500+ give or take if i'm not mistaking
 
p.s do you have anymore pics? even of the other species of fish you caught?

For a trip like this, you can expect to drop $5K including airfare. I booked through Acute Angling. You can catch peacock bass for much less, but you will not get the same quality/numbers. Venezuela and Columbia have some cheaper options, but there are risks with going to either place. You can fish for smaller butterfly peacocks in FL for about $300-400 per day and catch quite a few although most will be 1-3lbs. If you want to catch a lot of big ones, you pretty much have to go to Brazil and go through an outfitter. The good areas are so remote that you need to charter a flight, and that is like $3K right there if you try to do it on your own.
