Good choice. Peacock bass are a very wild looking fish and I would only mix them with similar type fish. Hoplarchus Psittacus will look great. On the subject of oscars I find that wild peru oscars look amazing and are less aggresive than the farm varieties.

or Emperor Cichlids AKA-Boulengerochromis Microlepis they are just ace fish.In all of my tanks with pbass I keep oscars, pikes, paratalipas sm. and lg. spot, polys, and an amp. of some sort. They all seem to work out fine.
