I threw a 2" albino pleco out in the pond a few months ago. well he aint so little any more. i want to bring him in for the winter as i think he may not make it. i have a 150 and a 29, both with african cichlids. i put some coral in the pond filter so he will be used to a high pH. the pond HAD plenty of algae but he ate that up. he's beed eating off the plants to stay fat. my problem is, how will i feed him inside. both my tanks are algae free, the 150 has 15 african cichlids, 7 clown loaches and a catfish and the 29 has a modesta loach and a clown pleco. i cant keep food on the bottom bc the other fish will eat it up before he has a chance to get any.

i put three algae waffers in the 29 every night and 7 in the 150 and they are gone by morning. is there any way to feed him besides sinking a cucumber?

i'm sure Davo will chime in.. but he told me to feed veggies and algae disks to all of the plecos and to make sure there is some kind of wood in each of the tanks that have plecos.

a few times a week i put in green peas, algae disks and/or whatever kind of vegetable i cook for us for dinner..

i know its not a BIG one as compared to some of these 10-20" plecos on MFK but for my tank, its way to big to live off the debris in my tank. i got a 3" clown pleco in there that would starve without algae waffers. i may just chance it and leave him in the pond.

Frozen peas thawed and placed in the tank will work..I prefer zukes to cukes and your loaches will eat it as well...........Mine love apple and orange slices , using a veggie clip suctioned to the glass. I always feed my plecs last thing in the evening before lights out........

i was thinking of using a vegi clip and try some seaweed from the saltwater shop. can you keep the clip near the top of the tank or is the bottom better. its a 30" tall tank.

I feed my 9inch scribble slices of potato THIN sliced cuz you dont want too much crap in the water but he finishes most of it every nite (thats why i do it every other nite)
