Big Pleco for pond.

you have it backwards. A Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps (sailfin) will grow larger than a Pterygoplichthys pardalis (common). Although these days the sailfin is considered a "common" pleco.

hey next time im in the market for a sail fin i'll tell the person to ring it up as a common because you say so and let see if i can get a good deal because it "common"

Please do some research, Pterygoplichthys pardalis (common) can reach 2 feet where as Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps (sailfin) reach 20 inches

Side note: You were just advising someone to do a 95% water change in another thread. Please tell me you are not trolling.

Mr. Warborg let me first say that i love your work and your avatar is amazing, I dont mean to correct you but Rotaryp04s was actually the one telling him not to do a 95% WC. I'll take my answer off the air.

I don't have any issue with Rotaryp04s. He has been correct in both threads. My last post was directed at lipadj46 in regards to the 95% water change and admitting sailfins only get to 20 inches then later saying commons are smaller

It all good warborg and ElectricBlueSeanBurch let me just say givin false infos like that would kill someone
Belove fish is just wrong what if it was his own sick pleco and someone told him to do a 95% WC and he did it and kill his own fish how would he feel. Karma, what goe around come around.

Sorry, I was using my phone. I misread who said what. To get things back on track...
+1 for the Gibby

you won't kill a fish by giving it fresh water, you might cure it though. Anyone who thinks a 95% water change will kill a properly cared for sick fish is living in the 80's or so as far as their fishkeeping goes. And yes according to the cat-e-log sailfins in general get bigger than common plecos, go search for species info on planetcatfish on the species names I gave in my post above. If your info is better than that site on plecos then email them and get them to change their database info on size.
