So I am a woman first off and I do know well this isn't the typical hobby for a woman but I have done well with my monster fish for about 4and 1/2 years and also learned a great deal about these fish monsters mostly red devils. mine is about 14 inches or more with bright yellow color! And had always been very healthy.
:WHOA: Now for the problem I need help on! My red devil Mr.Bighead is sick! It started with eating less a few days ago, yesterday he developed what I thought was eye cloud and or pop eye, and they are both treatable with seven days of med.'s. well I thought my tank was 150gal so I started treatment for him. Today I woke up and my fish was face down in his rocks so I gave him his treatment of MALAFIX and still all day he has been face down?:confused: So next I called my fish store and asked what more I could do? He told me to take out the carbon filters so the med.s could work better and give him a 25% watter change so I did. He has responded to some things once or twice and I can see he is breathing but it seems he might be in a comma or something? or do fish maybe get disorientated if one eye is covered with sickness? I have had him for so long Any advice would help any ideas at all! PLEASE HELP I don't have any more ideas? He's an ICU case and I really want him to make it because I know he's a strong bad ass fish. I need any advice ASAP

what are your water params
i mean nitrates nitrites ammonia
what is the water change regime you follow
did this start after anything you did to the tank like a water change or added a fish or fed him feeders
 
ok first off what did you treat him with? Was it Melafix? That stuff doesn't seem like it would hurt if you OD'ed by a Tbsp or two....
second how often do you do water changes and what %

I have been doing the same things for him four years now. I even buy him only food he likes :( now hes looking more spotted with color an bobbles in circles then stops I don't think he can see
 
the water evaporates so I give him 5 gal a week to a 110to 150 gal tank he fights me so its hard to clean it too often but we change filters and he's been fine a long time never anything like this but I'M SCARED AS HELL because he has a huge personality. now both eyes are cloudy only the one is swollen and he is still face down with little movement. I hope this problem doesn't spread to his placo roommate. I wish I knew what more I could do for him?
 
I thought he should be ok scene I did a full water change 2 1/2 months ago when we moved in to this apt and I went on to do a extra 25% today and once more in a week if he makes it through the night?
