Got a average common silver dollar (not the spotted, or tiger species, or hooks) that is almost five inches, really healthy and eating well right now and it looks like it's growth has slowed down quite considerably till it looks like it stopped growing.. does it still have the potential to get to 6-8 inches possibly? If you guys are curious about my setup, the SD is kept in really good conditions 250 gallon, where nitrate is very low thanks to pothos, biological filtration is excellent (I have a huge sump below tank with truckloads of porous media for beneficial bacteria) there are no diseases at all rampant in the tank, although I get occasional gill flukes every now and then, so I treat using prazi which fixes the problem. I also feed all of my fish really well, not way too much though, but enough for them to finish within like 5 minutes or something.. not seriously starving them. I do very large water changes once every couple weeks.. making sure the temp from tap matches the tank's temp to avoid the temperature death shock (that's what i call it lol made it up haha lesson learned in the past from temp shocking fish by accident thus instantly killing them).. So I doubt it's stunted or caused by stress if you guys may be thinking that.
What do you guys think? Still growing or nope, that's about it for regular SDs.
