Big tanks, water changes?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i originally bought a python and i think ive replaced every damn part on that thing. i think they use the cheapest plastic out there. heres the aqueon brand:

look at the faucet pump. it uses an actual valve to divert the water flow rather than pythons stupid "push in and twist" valve.

works great with very high pressure too. when you have the other end closed, it wont leak and spray water all over your house

50% once a week on all my tanks, which is not as some as most but is still 220 gallons a week. That doesn't include the 3 50% changes a week for the discus. But like someone else said you should kinda get into the hobby knowing this is the right way, not in amount, that varies, but in the constancy.

Some one once told me the three most important things in fish keeping are Water Changes, Water Changes, and lastly Water Changes.

i concur, my silver that i gave to a friend for FREE died after 5 yrs in his hands... bcuz he got lazy doing water changes

A lot of myths surrounding water changes, I see. My 4 Oscar tanks get a 75% on Mondays and 60% on Thursdays-like clockwork. The other 17 tanks get 60% a week. People will spend all kinds of money on food and fish yet only change 25% of the water every week or 3. Doesn't make sense to me. The least we can do for our fish is give them lots of fresh water.
