If you get a lot of filters for it and spend 200+ dollars it might be worth just getting a fx5 instead.
eheim 2262 is better then fx5.. or any fluval filters..

Supreme made a HOB called an Aquamaster 600. It was bigger than the AquaClear 500 (110). Put out 600 gallons per hour. It was a good filter. Don't know why they discontinued it.
fx5s are hard to get now, they are not being made anymore, fx6 replaced them and fx6s cost 300+ dollars so maybe 2 xp3s might have to do... 2 xp3s is 230$s...
A sump would be the best filtration for his tank probibly... The problem is all the complex plumbing... A sump would be great but at least a canister is second in line(ussally IMO) I like canisters beacause thay are more costumizable than hobs(most hobs are desighned to make you buy usless carbon bags so it can be hard to make a no bypass media... The only reason most of my filtrers are hobs is beacause they are dirt cheap, i rather have more canisters... i only have 2 canisters...I only run 1 canister now. They really aren't energy friendly except the eheims. If I'm gonna run a 50+watt canister why not just run a 70watt sump that can filter 2 tanks itself.
