Bigger pleco options for a 75?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi what about L128 or L200, mine are pretty peaceful and stunning to look at plus you have the hi fin L200 baryancistrus sp too
+1. I have both of these currently. I am so happy with the choice. The L128 is probably my fave to date. It’s imo the prettiest because I love the colour, and it comes out more than the others typically do as well.

Nice pics I’ve had mine a while now found them very slow growers though especially the L200

How big is a 75g footprint in cm? There is alot of nice plecos that will work in smaller tanks. Most of the hypancistrus species work same goes with many of the peckoltia and all of the panqulus species. But dont confuse them with panaque where all of the species outgrows a smaller tank.

That 128 looks amazing! But i ended up going with an L240. Little guy is pretty slim but I'm feeding a few different dried and frozen foods to try and plump him up.

I love L128s. I have 5 juvies with plans to breed them when they get bigger. I had 1 in my 75g but he was less than 3" and didn't grow much. I found a lfs that had a ton of L128s in the 3" range and bought 4. I had them in a 10g QT for about 2 months but I did 50% water changes almost every day and they're almost 4" now. They're all in a 40b with a few other plecos. I also have 3 4" BN plecos, 2" rubberlip and 3" L201 snowball in other tanks.

In the 40b are 5 L128s, 3 L333, L204, L387, L007 and Super Red BN. I also have 4 Goyder river rainbow juvies (>1") and 7 guppy fry.

I got a L007 specifically for my 75g. He's 4.5" now. The 3 L333 are under 2". The L204 is about 3", not including trailers. L387 is about 3" and SR BN is under 2".

They poop a ton so I vac almost every day so the tank gets at least a 10% change 5-6 times per week with a weekly 50% w/c. The AC50 on the right is mainly for bio filtering and the Topfin MF10 on the left is for flow.
