biggest and best tank i can get for around 13-1500

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Craigslist like the others said...be patient and keep looking.
Be willing to travel a little.

I had a glasscages 300g 96x24x30 I bought it new and ran it for 4 years. The guy who bought it still has it up and running for a total of 7 year no problems. I wouldn't run a bare bottom with them because the lower bracing isn't attractive put a nice bed of gravel in. They are heavy and very heavily braced. I have nothing but good things to say about the tank and my experiences. I built mine into a wall so I wasn't too concerned about the seams and bracing. It's a good quality tank

There was a 750 gallon Indianapolis CL a while back ago for $1500

I got my 200 wide 60x36x18 from glass cages like Rodger said there not the best looking tank, there messy with the silicone work, but they are very solid and heavy, it took 4 of us to walk it 25ft. Shipping was $120 to Cincinnati. They have a discount store, you have to call them though to see what's available, got mine dirt cheap imo

.......... I am looking for a 8x2x2 or bigger if cash allows. I wanting tank and stand. and have squandered away 1500. for it, including shipping. ................
Drive to So Calif & pop some other MFKers' tires before they arrive at the best deals. Ya might have to tie them up & toss them off the side of a freeway to make sure they are later than you.
It's the only way to win.
Trust me.

Check out craigslist I see 8x2x2 on there all the time

You can use searchtempest to search multiple CLs listings. You might try checking with custom builders if there are any local. They may have a tank where the buyer backed out or a used one from someone who is upgrading.

I personally would buy used over new any day. I've had good luck with used tanks and the money you can save and put into other stuff, makes it worth a little elbow grease cleaning one up. You may not get the exact size you want, but you have to decide how important that is to you. I search craigslist at least once a day using the words 'fish' and 'aquarium', you'd be surprised what comes up, the hardest thing is being the first responder. Also, there's people expecting almost full price and more for their aquarium stuff all the time, you just have to find the ones that live in reality. I lived in Charlotte a few years back, it's no different here in NJ as far as that goes. And, like Rodger stated, try negotiating with the people who have had their items up for a long time. I've found sellers get sick of buyers flaking out and try and take a sure thing just to get rid of their stuff. Patience. You have six months, I find waiting for something to come along always works better and saves me tons of money in the long run.
