unless the stripes are horizontal in which case it is probably one of the Polypterus bichir subspecies like P. bichir bichir (unlikely as these are really hard to get) or P. bichir lapradei. The Polypterus bichir subspecies are substantial bichirs as well....reaching up to and slightly over 30 inches.

I like in the last post 1st page "p.anasorgi thought to be extinct". That was 13years ago. How much has changed in a relatively short time. Wonder what we will find or have found in 13 more year's?

Hopefully an African lake in which only platinum polys are found...then *everyone* can own a plat poly
