Ive never seen a black aro larger than 24" .. whats the biggest black aro you have personally seen ?

around 25 inches.

I have seen a lot of big black arowanas but I never measured them.

when they get really large/old like that, do they retain the black still, or do they start to lose color?

The largest Black Arowana I have ever seen with my own two eyes would have to be around the 18" mark.

The big ones that I've seen were grey and didn't really have the beautiful tail that they have when smaller.

they r sliver w/ black fins
