Biggest fish in ct?

What is the biggest fish in the north east us? Yesterday I was walkin to the store and had to cross over a river while I was looking in the water. I saw a massive catfish had to be atleast 3.5'-4'. It was next to a bolder that I fish from witch is pretty huge. I perch up there and fish the deeper water. I tried to take a pic of its shadow but by the time I pulled out my phone it was gone.

Are channel cats native to this area? I know there Is a few native that look like the one im talking bout and a channel cat. Lol I feel like the.guy from river monsters .

It was probably a blue cat we have a pay lake here that has a 95lber

channel cats are the biggest in CT. Sturgeon have also been caught as well as reports of big stripers being hauled in a surprising distance inland. I have also seen some monster carp as big as the fish you describe. What water body are you refering to?

Agree with this you could have seen a big channel catfish I've seen some big ones where I fish in Canada I caught one 38 inches so you say you saw one about 3 and a half feet I would say isn't out of the question

I live in waterbury. Ive never caught any cats other then a 4" yellow bullhead.

That fish could have possilbly been bigger. The rock perch on is a easy 7" long and about 4" wide. Im 5' 5", I lay on it sometimes while fishing and theres still plenty of room. The fish was just a little over half the size of the rock. This fish was masive. It had to be in the 40 lbs range.
