I know you were concerned about my gar Madding and I thought I'd let you know he was doing well in the 15 gallon for now w/ the pacu and the oscar... he got spooked a few times but I got some slime coat stuff and it has reallly relaxed him. He will be moved to a 180 in short time, as soon as it cycles.
 
With the pacu and oscar? Omg.......

I have a 3 yo thats just under 18". Funny thing is I have 2 others about the same age far smaller(length and girth). Its all about gentics.

Yeah I know as of now its definitely not optimal but there all small and getting along.. the oscar or gar never bother anyone (except feeders), the pacu is the crazy one lol.... its only for a very short time so they'll be fine. They're sturdy fish!

it would be better if you put it in a bucket or plastic tank with no other fish for a few days!
 
my pacus in my hundred gallon ganged up and ate my gar one day with no warning. ='( he was 10 inches and they were 5 or 6...
