Biggest for 75g

75's are not 24" tall. That's the dimensions of a 90g. 75g is only 21" tall.

The only "large" puffers that would work in that tank would be some of the lurker species, the other two largest freshwater ones would need much larger tanks in order to live there for life...

If you were willing to go with smaller puffers, then you could get away with 3 South American Puffers (Colomesus asellus) Although as a heads up, this species of puffer WILL require dental care possibly every 6 or so months even with a constant hard shell diet...

Polenni - Great looking fish, large growing fish which will fit in a 75gal for life if kept alone IMO. I used to have one until my Oscar killed it

Gulper Catfish are a great idea! A bit of a pricey investment but what a blast to watch eat...they don't do much else though...

Why not regular flowerhorn? I have a 14 inch oscar in a 75 and it is happy and healthy.

LOL no reason I just like shortbody flowerhorns for some reason.... have you decided yet op?

Yea I decided. Black Oscar breeding project. Thanks for all the suggestions. Been trying to get into breeding for awhile now so I figured I'd start with a fish I enjoy keeping.
