i think they are very similar looking to asians but the color is drab and the
scales are so much smaller.

TIkarmann - where did you see this? at a lfs??

yeh the jar was io a 8x4 tank in a LFS

the barbels were a mess like i find with all jars they are never straight and nice like other aros

wonder why thats the case? i noticed jar barbels are thinner than asians.
Or maybe they just dont give the extra attention to jardinis as compared to scleropages.

One displayed at the Shedd Chicago Aquarium is about 3ft I think.

Really?? I was just there and im pretty sure i didnt see one. They had one 3ft silver and a couple of small blacks... maybe i missed it. Would have liked to see that.

That is true. I always see them with broken barbels.

Isnt this a bit puzzling? Jardini arowanas are one of the common aros
but we hardly see them go past 15 inches. Everyone and their moms have seen
24 inche silvers though.

I saw one in a display tank at a LFS it was about 18" but I agree I have never seen one much bigger than that.

Iv seen two at about 3ft in a local public Aquarium and they are the best two i have ever seen not fat or bent, but they were in a masive Aquarium.
Thomas.
