@why spyder - I know haps are larger members of cichlids found in malawi, I remember a male redtop zebra ~7"(maybe, was lookin really big) at one of lfs here.

If I m right, members here(mfk) don include tails while mentioning the size of their fishes. The size I've mentioned is including its tail.

out of curiosity....how do you guys measure the size of a fish? well, I take them out, hold them against a scale :D

To be honest i just quess or hold up the measuring tape or stick ..but i never take them out to measure.. everytime fingers of humans touch the fish you rub off the slime coat protection on a fish..maybe even knock off some scales which leave them open to fungus and other infections,not worth the risk to me.. never knew people measured with out the tails.. i think i will still include the tail when i measure but i will now mention including tail:D
