Nice A. Hystrix. With him being the top dog in the tank, he naturally would be aggressive. But the beauty of these fish makes it all worth it.

nice adonis I just bought one today at 3 inch long its got a way to go
I assume they get to 10 inch in first year or so and then slowly "gigantificate " heh heh... and their spots how long do they stay for ?

The Acanthicus adonis has spots all its life. The acanthicus Hystrix pictured above never has spots. If yours has spots it is the Acanthicus Adonis.

though the spots tend to get smaller (in proportion to size of fish) and fewer with age. these fish get to a good monster size. i especially like these, because their pectoral fins get big too, and always remind me of sharks.
