love your tank Andy.
Nice to see its stocked properly also (no americans with the africans lol) there seems to be rather alot of members here with the wrong fish housed together!
What size is your tank mate? How is it filtered??

Well kind of they are all from africa hehehe some people say u can't mix the 2 lakes.
its 6 L 2 H 3 W
i got to 2x ehiem 2080 pro3.

Lets all remember that people can keep fish how they like. With the farm raised fish being sent around the world, it is difficult to say what is best. Lets keep the over health of the fish in mind, and not judge people by stocking options.

I am setting up a 500G african tank. Does that mean I win something? Or do I have to get it setup first?

In that case mixing lakes is not a good idea either. The fish have not had contact and conditions are different including feeding habits of many fish. So, I would not jump to people mixing one type are worse than those that mix another. Even mixing in the same biotype goes against the said rules. Species only is the way to go, but since many people are not wanting this, let just try to give good advice and not bash groups of people. Case by case basis can be looked at.

I got a 6x2x3 with 4 black piranha.. some people say you cant have more than 1 in a tank... lol

I think its fine mixing the african lakes, aslong as your tank is large enough to handle it, with territories etc... the water requirements are almost identical after all, obviously pH is a slight issue, but the upper and lower limits of all 3 lakes tend to meet around 8 - 8.2, so aslont as the pH is in that area Im sure there would be no problem, and your tank proves that mate..

Its when people on here, mainly American I have noticed to (lol) seem to think its ok to mix everything from Danios and tetras, to clown loaches and American cichlids with the Africans, thats what really annoys me!! Grrrr

lol

regarding your p's you may have em for now but you can expect one or none in the long run

Well they have been quite happy for a year now.
4 wild caught peru rhoms, about 10inch in size, there some squabbles but nothing to serious.
My old boy, Bruno, was a completely different kettle of fish.

I had him from the size of a 50p, 18 years later he died of old age.. boy was he an aggressive fish though!

thats interesting can you post pics of you're rhoms in the piranha forum the boys would surel;y like to see that
