bio ball question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Stay away from the raw shrimp, that's mainly for salt and you don't have the circulation for it anyway.

Urine!?! Only if that's what you think of it :grinno:.

Change water often enough to keep amonia levels up or feed it ammonia. (w/o fish)
I lost some skeeter fish in a bunch of anacharis, I don't know how thet'll find their way in that!!!.

How come you couldn't leak test outside?

you could just add ammonia every day, but that's a pita...heck, someone said to pee in it to cycle, but I don't think I could stand the smell of that...the shrimp is a good idea too. Can't wait to see it up and running, fishies installed and everything, this was an awesome deal and from looking at your other stuff, you'll make this into one heck of a tank set-up too.
thanks :)
and im going to give it my best to make nice.
i am working with 30 year old stuff, stuff around the house, and im broke. :D

doesnt "not" doing w/c keep ammonia up?

seems when you mention moving an 8 and a 1/2 foot tank people do -> :nilly:
it took me about a week and a half to get 6 people to help.i had people backing out the day of move.
then people i didnt even know took there places.
so it would have been difficult to get 6 again to move it a 2nd time.
i had one chance to get it in the house so i took it. :D
now i only need like 2 people to move it closer to the wall when ready.
sucks to work on it inside, but ya do what ya have to for these dang fishys.
and we need new carpet so if it leaks we get new carpet.lol

"going to post a few boring update pics in the 240 thread. ;) lol"

Just remember you DGF is working with 28 yr old stuff too, I hope she's not complaining as much .

Not doing W/C would keep the ammonia up if there were fish in it, otherwise it will somewhat offgas to the atmosphere.

As to moving... OH. I used to have a lot of friends that owed me a bunch of favors... they've all moved now :(.
