Good old scrubbies.

Use the center plastic piece for the pleated micron cartrage and then fill the entire chamber (outside of the center tube.) with ceramic rings. Don't even bother with the carbon container.

Sounds interesting...might give it a try.

think i might try rings on the bottom half and scrubbies on top, oughta do something i am thinking.there are some pretty neat "seeded" medias called aqua chargers, have had great luck w/ them an they are pretty cheap on doc foster , hope that isnt a bad thing to mention them, they have some pretty good prices.
