Bio Balls in etss skimmers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Etss basically said i just need 2500gph at 10 psi, and reeflo said to take one pump and feed the other pump, so the way i understood it was you take the outlet of one pump and take it to the inlet of the other. reeflo described it as 10 psi is equal to 23 feet of head pressure and with the two pumps you divide that by two.a barracuda will pump 2700 at 12 feet, so the way they described it is that i should have roughly 2700 gph at 10 psi with the two pumps. all i can do is try it and see since i already have the pumps on the way

the reeflo manta ray is suppose to be a perfect match but it uses around 850 watts and running two barracudas should be about 500 watts. I called reeflo again today to confirm it and they swear it will run the etss 2500, I also called etss and he just said i need to run between a 1/2 and 3/4 hp pool pump. so now you know as much as i do on skimmer pumps, which isn't allot haha

I would just go with the pool pump. I run my etss skimmers on a hayward pool pump. Just be very careful with the skimmer cause they seem to crack an spring leaks very easy.

Yea, but he allready ordered the Reeflo's. It should work fine

the pumps for the skimmer and main returns should be here on the 23 hopefully i will have the tank full by then so i can get it running. I'm just gonna try the two pumps and see how it goes, i can always change them out if needed.

If you run two pumps, you'll need the pressure side of each feeding into the skimmer... not one pump into the other.

I'd vote send them back when they get in and run a 1/2 hp or 3/4hp Haywood or Jaccuzi pump.

Not much, maybe alittle flow. The tech's at little giant told me that a pump that puts out 5psi tied to another of the same will still be 5psi, kinda like having two air hoses with 90 psi, if you put them together you still have 90psi not 180

Deano I agree with you, I cant figure out why reeflo is telling me it will double, but i got it set up so i can pressure test it and see for sure, although i got a feeling im gonna be disappointed with the two reeflos lol
